Recently named entertainer of the year, Hopper brings his unique vocal abilities and powerful performance style to the showroom at Ra beginning May 2. With an incredible four-octave range, Hopper takes audiences on a musical journey with artists as varied as Sinatra and Sting to Beethoven and Bocelli. He interprets popular songs and performs original music, all backed by a five-piece band. Luxor lured Hopper away from a recent standing-room-only gig at another Las Vegas property. "We know a remarkable talent when we see one, and we knew Jimmy would be a perfect addition to the entertainment lineup offered at Luxor," said Mike Hartzell, director of entertainment. Since coming to Las Vegas in 1999, Hopper has been garnering much media attention, both in Las Vegas and on the national scene. For example, during a recent profile, "Entertainment Tonight" called Hopper "Las Vegas' hottest late-night entertainer." Local press has been equally embracing. Gaming Today says Hopper gives "one of the most remarkable performances I have ever witnessed." ShowBiz magazine raves Hopper is "an incredibly versatile singer." And the Las Vegas Review-Journal says, "Hopper's time has come."
