| Unlv Holds Auditions For Gershwins 'Crazy For You' |
2/17/2000 UNLV's University Theatre announced auditions for George and Ira Gershwin's musical extravaganza "Crazy for You" on Saturday, February 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Paul Harris Theatre. Callbacks are Sunday, February 20. The production is being directed by guest director Alex Chrestopoulos. Boy meets girl in Deadrock Nevada where they spread goodness and ultimately fall in love. The show features such memorable songs as "Someone to Watch Over Me," "Embraceable You," "I Got Rhythm," "They Can't Take That Away from Me" and "Nice Work if You Can Get It." The show needs talented singers and dancers and the leads need to be able to tap dance. Those wishing to audition will need to sign up in the Theatre offices located at the west end of Carlson Education building by the Sidewalk Cafe and fill out an audition form. A sixty second comic monologue and sixteen bars of a song are needed for the audition. Those auditioning will need to bring tap or character shoes to the audtion. Rehearsals will be in the evening and on week-ends beginning March 20. Performances are April 28, 29, May 5 and 6 at 8:00 p.m. with an additional Sunday performance on April 30 at 7:30 and two matinees at 2:00 on April 30 and May 7. Tickets, which are $15, are available in the Performing Arts Center Box Office. |
