| KEVIN 'THE KING OF QUEENS' JAMES APPEARING IN LAS VEGAS HILTON THEATER NOVEMBER 24-25 |
|
11/10/2000 November 10, 2000 LAS VEGAS - Kevin James, star of the CBS hit comedy The King of Queens, will bring his hilarious stand up to the Las Vegas Hilton Theater Thanksgiving Weekend, Friday and Saturday, November 24-25 for one show each night at 9:00 p.m.
The King of Queens heads up a stellar CBS Monday night lineup that features the top 10-rated Everybody Loves Raymond, starring fellow comic Ray Romano and Becker, starring Ted Danson. The show airs each Monday at 8:00 p.m., and co-stars Leah Remini (NYPD Blue, Cheers, Diagnosis Murder) and Jerry Stiller (Seinfeld, Touched by and Angel, L.A. Law).
James stars as Doug Heffernan, a parcel delivery man in Queens, N.Y., with simple wants and needs, like a 70-inch TV set. When his wife, Carrie (Remini) surprises him with the large screen TV, he becomes the envy of the neighborhood. Life is very good for Heffernan and his sports watching buddies.
But his kingdom soon comes under attack. His recently widowed father-in-law, the cantankerous Arthur (Stiller) moves in and takes over the basement. Carrie's sister Sara, a firm believer of what's yours is mine, is always underfoot. Doug's basement paradise is now Arthur's room, while Sara spends half her day in Doug's bathroom. Suddenly, Doug has a large family in a small house and a big TV in a tiny bathroom. Pass the remote, the premise is set.
James first developed the blue-collar, beer and pizza loving character in his stand-up act and portrayed a similar character a few years back on CBS sister show Everybody Loves Raymond. After brief stints on "Raymond," James signed a development deal with NBC to create his own show. When NBC didn't order the pilot, CBS knowing James from his work on "Raymond" quickly snapped it up and three years later, The King of Queens is more than holding its own opposite Monday Night Football. Beat the holiday blues Thanksgiving weekend when Kevin "The King of Queens" James performs his hilarious brand of blue-collar, pizza and beer stand-up comedy during two shows November 24-25 in the Hilton Theater. Tickets are available at the box office for $35 and $45 and may be purchased over the phone by calling (702) 732-5755, or toll-free at 1-800-222-5361. |
