The first Celebrity Pro-Am No Limit Texas Holdem Poker Tournament took place on June 26 at the famed Las Vegas hotspot, “The Joint” in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. LasVegasVegas was on the scene from the kick off of the event at 5:00pm until the final hand was dealt just after 1:00am. The event featured big name Hollywood celebrities including Greg Busey of “Lethal Weapon” fame, Academy Award nominee Jennifer Tilly and Lou Diamond Phillips. Stars of the poker world came out in force as well, including Phil ‘Unabomber' Laak, Antonio ‘The Magician' Esfandiari, 3.5 million dollars second place WSOP finisher David Williams and renowned 1983 WSOP champion Tom McEvoy.
The event kicked off at 5:00pm with a one hour seminar from master professional high stakes poker player and teacher Barry Tanenbaum. This was follow by an hour long VIP reception where event participants were treaded to great food, poker lessons from the pros and the chance to mingle with the stars of poker and Hollywood alike.
