The “Major Fun Award” is bestowed at the discretion of Bernie (Major Fun) DeKoven, author and lifetime member of The Association for the Study of Play. In a January 30th review published in his daily edition of “The Fun Day Times” online, while noting WildWords" similarities to another crossword board game, DeKoven further remarked that WildWords is “different enough to make it a completely new, and disturbingly compelling game.” Describing the game"s wild asterisk tile that can represent any one letter OR any string of consecutive letters, DeKoven says, “It"s what makes WildWords into a unique word/board game. Regarding the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Foundation Gala, WildWords was chosen by the special events & fundraising company, GBK Events, to be one of the quality items included in their gift bags for the charity gala. This second annual fundraiser is to be scheduled for late April or early May 2004. Among last year"s 250 attendees were Elizabeth Taylor, Justin Timberlake, Jack Nicholson, Sylvester Stallone, Rod Stewart, Natalie Cole, Anastacia, Tony Bennett and Sir Elton John.
